There is a new poster required by the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) that must be posted as of March 8, 2013. Among other things, the new poster includes changes to FMLA leave matters relating to Military Family Leave and Military Caregiver leave. As with the prior poster, notice must be displayed in “a conspicuous place where employees and applicants for employment can see it.” If the employer is covered by the law, the poster must be displayed at all locations, even if there are no eligible employees. A free copy of the official approved poster may be downloaded at the DOL website: There are new forms that the employers can use to certify employees’ use of military-related leave: WH384, 385, 385-V. Other employer forms for FMLA certification that are quite helpful include WH380-E, WH380-F, WH381, and WH382.
